Anyone else having a 3DS exporter bug?

Our studio’s animator is running into a crash when importing our FPS mesh, animation and rig into LY from 3DS using the plugin. Is this a known bug? If so, is there a workaround or a fix in the works? Thanks!

Sorry to hear you’re running into a crash with assets. This is the first we’re hearing of any issues regarding assets exported from 3DS Max. Can you please provide some additional information?

  • 3DS Max Version
  • Are there any errors from 3DS Max when exporting to the character formats?
  • When you say crash on import, can you be more specific? For example, the Asset Processor fails to process the .SKIN, when importing the .i_CAF in Geppetto it crashes the Editor, etc.

This issue was resolved by only selecting the root bone to add to the animation export list. Also mentioned in this post.
