It seems that Crytek is creating a “Crysis Remastered” (using CryEngine 5.8) based on an earlier tech demo (based on CryEngine 5.6).
CryEngine 5.6 Tech demo here:
It seems that well over 1,000+ changes to the engine (and CryEngine launcher) have been made (in CryEngine 5.6) which was also used for Hunt: Showdown.
Official Press Release here:
Crysis Remastered will focus on the original game’s single-player campaigns and is slated to contain high-quality textures and improved art assets, an HD texture pack, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, and parallax occlusion mapping, particle effects will also be added, volumetric fog and shafts of light, software-based ray tracing, and screen space reflections provide the new game with a major visual upgrade.
It seems that Crytek has been “hard at work” with the latest CryEngine release.
I truly wish that a “production ready” game similar to Crysis Remastered could be built (for PC and console) using Lumberyard. We can only dream.
