What is the best way to share a level between collaborators? We have a small group, and I would like to be able to take the level (terrain, level objects) and work with it. If we try to do this by just copying the level folder, we get an error saying that the terrain/cover.ctc file has the wrong signature. Is there a way to get around this?
There are several ways to collaborate with other people in Lumberyard.
One option would be to use a version control software (highly recommended) like Perforce or Git where all of the files are stored in a remote repository.
If you do not want to use a version control software, you will need to do copy your project’s code (located in the
\dev\Code\[project name] directory) and game folder (located in the
\dev\[project name] directory).
If you only want to share the assets, then the entire game folder should be copied, not just the level folder, since there could be assets outside of the level folder that are being referenced.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for using Lumberyard!
