Major GameLift FlexMatch update now Generally Available

Calling all game developers!

We are excited to announce the GA for the standalone mode of GameLift’s matchmaking feature, FlexMatch! With this update, developers get the same fully managed, flexible, and scalable multiplayer matchmaker - now compatible with game servers running on-premises, peer-to-peer, and on cloud compute primitives.

To use FlexMatch in standalone mode, all you have to do is set the FlexMatchMode parameter in the CreateMatchmakingConfiguration API to STANDALONE and subscribe to an SNS topic. When FlexMatch forms a match, it will publish an event notification to that SNS topic, which your session management system can then use to route players to your servers.
