Mapping a camera image to an object

A relatively common thing in a game is to simply display the image taken by the camera on an object in the scene … but is this actually just feasible in Lumberyard?

hi! you can try to use $dynTexture for decal, and placed this decal on objects
then use RenderToTexture component to render into this $dynTexture once
you also may use just simple plane mesh(and place mesh where you need) with materail that will use $dynTexture

Effectively the RenderToTexture is well describe here and as written we can use this function to create mirrors, security camera screens and draw 3D models in the display window.
Do you know if it’s possible to read inside a script the material file that reference the render target as its diffuse texture ?
