Hi I’m trying to add a texture that has a transparent background to a plane. I dont want the plane to be visible but I want the texture to be visibile. How would I go about this? I tried creating a material with a ReferenceImage shader and low opacity and it nearly works but not quite.
Thanks in advance
Hello there @stogeflame,
think what you’re trying to do is use an image with alpha and apply it to a plane so only the parts of the image that have full alpha (opaque) are visible on the plane and the rest of the plane invisible (see-through).
One way you can do this is to use the Illum shader type for your material, apply an image that contains alpha to the Diffuse slot, then slowly increase the Alpha Test value until you have reached the desired results.
I’ve attached an image to show this.
Please let me know if we can help in any other way.
