I was watching a video on Unreal Engine and the developer set up the ability to host a multiplayer game where the user-hosted the game and didn’t use servers. is setting up something like that ok with Lumberyard?
of course I do not know an engine that this is not ok. But what you are saying is only semi true, the user is THE server and others connect to that server. This is possible in all engines that I know of Lumberyard it is not too hard to set up, but using an actual server allows for easier ways to connect the players. Using a user made server makes it nearly impossible to pick up the ip’s for everyone to connect to unless you plan on doing something like an ip input box.
Try MultiplayerSample demo project comes with Lumberyard that demonstrates multiplayer game for both local or gamelift(AWS).
